Tonies will be bringing three iconic Roald Dahl stories to life in a new way as a result of the new partnership.
The launch of The Witches, Matilda, and James and the Giant Peach mark the beginning of the collaboration, with additional titles to be released next year.
The Witches is narrated by actress and comedian Lolly Adefope, while Matilda is told by Oscar-winning actress, Kate Winslet, and James and the Giant Peach is narrated by comedian, James Acaster, and arrives just in time for Christmas.
Packed with hilarity, magic and just desserts, the trio of children’s stories will provide children with an introduction to the worlds of Roald Dahl in Tonie form.
The Tonies are suitable for ages six and over. The Witches has a running time of 180 minutes; Matilda runs for 72 minutes; and James and the Giant Peach lasts 61 minutes.
Liz Peters, head of portfolio UK and IE at Tonies, commented: “We are delighted to welcome some of the world’s best loved Roald Dahl stories into our Tonies portfolio and can’t wait to introduce these stories to a new generation of Tonies listeners. Our commitment to engaging young readers by introducing them to brilliant stories that nurture the imagination comes with the launch of this special partnership.”
Laura Antonacci, director of content, Tonies USA, added: “From the day I started at Tonies, I knew that I wanted to add Roald Dahl and his classic storytelling to our portfolio. Introducing these wonderful and entertaining stories to little listeners in such a fun and engaging way has been an absolute delight. We are looking forward to adding more popular Roald Dahl titles over the next few years.”
