Company has ‘solid contingency plan’ in place to maintain distribution to customers.
TOMY UK has moved to send a message of reassurance to its customers in the face of potential instability related to Brexit.
The company – which has a number of preschool line within its portfolio – has put in place a ‘solid contingency’ plan enabling it to maintain distribution to its customers.
As a short-term solution, TOMY UK is moving anticipated stock requirements to a UK warehouse in partnership with distribution partner, DSV.
“Our key priority is to ensure we are prepared for any eventuality and the business is in a position to supply customers without disruption,” said Mary Wood, general manager at TOMY UK. “Our customers are our absolute priority especially in light of the significant marketing and retail plans in place for Easter 2019.”
Mary continued: “Following a highly successful AW18 with core brand Aquadoodle, which resulted in temporary out of stocks due to high demand, TOMY UK will be TV advertising Aquadoodle over Easter and it will be essential to ensure we can supply stock to meet the anticipated levels of consumer demand.”
“In addition, we have a strong TV and retail campaign for TOMY Toomies ‘Sora chick’ lines including a chick-themed FSDU featuring best-selling Hide & Squeak Eggs, new musical product Beat It!, Pic n Pop, and Pop n Hatch which is ideal to maximise the Easter opportunity at retail.”
Mary concluded: “We are confident that our plans will allow us to ensure supply in any transition period and TOMY UK, along with its retail partners, will have a successful 2019.”
TOMY UK will be exhibiting on stand 520 at Toy Fair from January 22-24.
