Company’s Monster puppets make an appearance on Halloween special of BBC1 show.
Last weekend’s Strictly Come Dancing Halloween Special on BBC1 featured some extra special guests as six Monster puppets from The Puppet Company took on starring roles in one of the evening’s ‘spooktacular’ routines.
Cbeebies favourite Dr Ranj and his partner Janette Manrara danced a jive to Monster Mash, with the Monster puppets singing along while sitting on top of a toy box in a child’s bedroom.
Janette was also seen cuddling one of The Puppet Company’s new Baby Monster puppets at the beginning of the routine.
“We were thrilled to play a part in Strictly Come Dancing on Saturday night and to provide some of our wonderful puppets to the BBC for their Monster Mash set,” said director of The Puppet Company, Peter Lockey. “Despite finding themselves at the bottom of the judge’s leader-board, the public saved Dr Ranj and Janette and we think families voted for them because everyone loved the puppets.
“Our Monster puppets are ideal for Halloween parties and we hope lots of children will be having some fun with them this week.”
According to the BBC’s Strictly Press Office, the Halloween episode peaked at 10.8 million viewers and was the most watched show across all channels on Saturday.
