Company has enjoyed a solid 2019 so far, with its Wilberry toy brand growing 28%.
The Puppet Company is looking to continue its successful run in 2019, showcasing a number of new launches at next week’s Autumn Fair.
The company has seen a strong performance from its Wilberry toy brand over the past 12 months, with growth of 28%.
Peter Lockey, md of The Puppet Company, told PreschoolNews.net that growth had been driven by “good design, quality and great margins for the retailer”. Sell-through of the range had been “excellent” with Peter saying that some lines, such as the Feathery Owls (pictured), had sold out in just two weeks.
Having already exhibited at the Home & Gift Buyers’ Festival in Harrogate in July, The Puppet Company is now gearing up to take its raft of almost 80 new designs to Autumn Fair (which runs from September 1-4 at Birmingham’s NEC).
“We are particularly pleased with our new large plush pets and dressed animal characters,” said Peter. “All our wholesale prices are designed to give the retailer at least 2.4 margin. The range is large with nearly 600 different soft toys with new lines being added all the time.
“We are seeing a trend towards more traditional styles with teddy bears making an appearance again. Also some of our more Scandinavian designs in neutral colours including fairies and ballet dancers have been selling strongly.”
The Puppet Company is also keen to help retailers sell more of its products, providing point of sale material including stands and baskets so toys can be displayed to their best advantage.
This year we are launching a range of mini suitcases in four sizes that will be perfect ‘homes’ for most of our Wilberry toys and POS material baskets so our range can be easily merchandised,” Peter continued. “The baskets are printed on both sides with the ‘Wilberry’ branding and will be available in three sizes.”
