Online community The Grandparent Hub has launched a brand new website as part of its aim to offer support for the 9million strong ‘grandparent generation’ with workshops, advice, tips and ideas for looking after their grandchildren.
Grandparents are now the number one childcare solution, ranking above nursery day care and childminders. Around a third of grandparents look after their grandchildren a few times a week, with 72% planning day trips and other activities.
The Grandparent Hub offers an online platform for grandparents to share experiences and gain inspiration for things to do. It aims to reinforce the fun side of being a grandparent, with thought leadership pieces, charity events, workshops, offers and educational experiences, reinforcing the bond between grandparent and grandchild.
Following its recent relaunch, the new online platform has a collective social following of 73,000 people regularly engaging with its content. It has already signed partnership deals with Kobo, Barclays, Gibson’s Games and Toy Box Tots to deliver content and advertising across the launch period.
“We are excited to be re-launching our new website,” said founders, Suellen Morris and Sharon Slade. “We all know how key grandparents are in grandchildren’s lives these days, especially with childcare being so expensive, so it’s great to be able to provide this website for these grandparents. We hope this will give them some great ideas on things to do with their grandchildren and help them create wonderful memories from these moments.”
