The high-profile British fashion designer has launched a range of childrenswear in collaboration with Beano Studios, featuring characters from the much-loved Scottish comic.
The collection follows the success of McCartney’s 2017 womenswear collection which also featured the cartoons.
The Stella McCartney x Beano AW 2018 collection includes everything from babygros to T-shirts, jeans, hoodies and velvet bomber jackets. The collection inlcudes 40 designs, which feature classic Beano and Dandy characters such as Minnie the Minx, Korky the Cat, Cuddles and Dimples and Dinah Mo.
“The Beano was a huge part of my childhood and the rebellious and fun nature celebrated in the comic led the design process of the new collection,” said Stella. “Following the success of the Dandy woman’s range last year, we were keen to celebrate the next generation of Beano fans with a sustainable and practical range for kids who still share that ‘Beano’ spirit of these iconic characters.”
“Stella has a brilliant understanding of our Beano characters and their bold and rebellious personalities,” said Emma Scott, ceo at Beano Studios. “In this new range, Stella brings famous Beano and Dandy heroes to life in a new and dynamic way, which connect with Beano children of today.”
Available in sizes from newborn through to 14+ years, it is available now from selected stores, including Harrods.
