Start-Rite celebrates 230th birthday with NSPCC partnership

Children’s shoe company, Start-Rite, has partnered with leading children’s charity, the NSPCC, to mark its 230 years in business.

The 12-month fundraising campaign is called ‘Protecting their future, one step at a time’, and will encompass a programme of activities, launching with a donation of shoes to children currently supported by the charity.

Start-Rite’s partnership with the NSPCC will also include the launch of a a bespoke NSPCC shoe collection, including canvas designs hand-drawn by Start-Rite’s in-house designer, a Chelsea boot and a slipper. The designs, available online and through Start-Rite’s retailers, will be launched throughout the year, with a donation made to the NSPCC for every pair sold.

To mark the 230 years, the Start-Rite team will undertake 230 themed challenges, and donate 230 pairs of Start-Rite shoes to children using the NSPCC’s therapeutic services adn via the NSPCC’s local partner organisations.

On 10 June, the Start-Rite team will celebrate the NSPCC’s Childhood Day by collaborating with high profile influencers to raise awareness of the fantastic work that the NSPCC does.

Employees will also be taking part in fundraising challenges, including the ceo of Start-Rite running the London Marathon in October.

And finally, the company will support the NSPCC throughout the year to create and share advice on parental issues including online safety, mental health and supporting children going back to school.
