Snippets are a brand-new range of eco-friendly water toys from baby and children’s swimwear brand Splash About.
The sea creature toys have been created from leftover neoprene that otherwise would have ended up in landfill. Snippets are designed for use in the swimming pool to encourage water confidence and help to build swimming skills.
The range includes Sardines or Seahorse dive toys, which are weighted so they will sink to the bottom of the pool, encouraging children to get their heads wet and swim underwater.
The Starfish, Whale and Stingray are all designed to float on the surface of the water making them ideal for throwing and retrieving in baby swim classes or as a comforter for little ones who need more encouragement in the water.
The soft ergonomic shapes are easy to hold and grasp, but the toys are light enough to throw and the bright eye-catching designs mean they are easy to spot in the water. After care is simple, rinse and squeeze dry after use.
As the Snippets are created from end of roll fabric, they can be paired or mixed and matched with Splash About’s collection of swimwear from reusable swim nappies to wetsuits, swimming costumes and floatation vests and jackets.
“At Splash About we are very conscious of our commitment to the environment, creating reusable swim nappies as an alternative to disposables that help to reduce single-use plastic heading to landfill and ensuring pool water is the cleanest it can be for all swimmers, with our bacteria-busting DUO swim nappies,” commented Lesley Beach, joint managing director of Splash About International.
“We’re really proud of these water toys, not only because of their eco-credentials as the end of roll fabric would otherwise have gone to waste, but also because the Snippets will accompany children on their swim journey from encouraging water confidence for reluctant swimmers to improving existing skills of more advanced children.”
