Sophie la girafe celebrates 60 years

Classic teething toy celebrates its 60th anniversary with a special edition design.

With a heritage spanning six decades, Sophie la girafe has become known by families around the world and trusted by millions of parents to soothe gums and provide play for babies and toddlers. And to celebrate the milestone, a special edition Sophie by Me design will be launched later in the year.

Sophie la girafe is still produced in France, using the same method used when the toy was first created, with a closely guarded process involving 14 manual operations.

Made from 100% natural rubber derived from the sap of the Hevea tree, Sophie’s flexible, renewable, natural materials and food grade non-toxic paint mean it is a safe and natural teething toy.

Lorraine Ashton, md of 1 Two Kids, the UK distributor for Sophie la girafe, commented: ” The super cute, some night say legendary, teething toy is truly adored by her fans. 100% natural and safe, it’s understandable the iconic toy has garnered a global following during the last 60 years.

“To mark the birthday, there will be celebrations around the world and this September we’ll be unveiling a limited edition Sophie By Me design, as voted for by thousands of fans, young and old.”
