Simba Smoby Toys UK ups Sabine Dix and welcomes two new hires

Simba Smoby Toys UK has made a brace of new appointments, as well as promoting one of its senior sales team.

The company has promoted Sabine Dix (pictured left) to the role of head of sales. Previously senior national account manager, Sabine has been instrumental to the growth of the business, particularly the online and grocery channels, as well as national accounts.

This, together with two decades of experience that she gained at Spin Master, Tomy, MGA, Trends and Theo Klein, will be invaluable to Sabine in her new role, which now includes day to day management of the sales team.

Meanwhile, Claire Hodgson (pictured centre) has joined the team as national account manager, supporting the company’s online customers. She brings more than 20 years of experience in toy and nursery sales, having most recently held roles with Spin Master and MGA.

Simba Smoby has also confirmed the appointment of Rebecca Galligan (pictured right) as marketing consultant. She brings with her experience in marketing, brand strategy and franchise management including senior marketing roles during a 14-year career at Mattel.

Speaking of the changes within the team, Martin Whittaker, md at Simba Smoby Toys UK, said: “These new appointments are a great start for the sales and marketing teams. Sabine’s promotion and the additions to the team reflect the growth in the business and is just the first step to what we expect to be an exciting year ahead for the company.

“At London Toy Fair our 2022 portfolio was not only met with enthusiasm, but we also won a Hero Toy award for the B-Kind Dolls. The additional team members will certainly be needed to meet demand for our ranges, and it’ll be great to see what we can achieve between us this year.”
