Preschool lines to shine at UK Toy Fair

‘We see constant innovation in the preschool sector at the show’ says BTHA’s Majen Immink.

Preschool products are set to take centre stage next week at the UK Toy Fair, with the show organiser telling PreschoolNews.net that new ranges in the sector will be cropping up across the show floor and beyond.

Demand for the event – which runs at London’s Olympia from 23-25 January – was so strong that all of the exhibitor floor space was sold out in October 2017, almost four months before the show opens its doors.

“For the 2018 show, we have had one of the largest number of new exhibitor applications which is testament to the talent in the industry, as well as the importance the industry places on the show as a key event in the buying calendar,” said Majen Immink, director of fairs and special events at the BTHA.

More than 250 exhibitors will be on the showfloor, including 79 new exhibitors – 66 of which are first timers; and a number of these will be showing preschool product.

“As ever, I expect preschool products will crop up all over Toy Fair this year,” Majen continued. “Preschool products are an important segment for the toy industry and we see constant innovation in that area.”

“I’m delighted to see so many brand new exhibitors at Toy Fair this year that focus on preschool products. I’m excited about Max Mindpower, for example, a teddy bear toy designed to help children learn the art of mindfulness. By squeezing Max’s paw, children can take part in guided meditation.”

Majen added: “I’m also excited to see MURO, another UK start-up focused on the preschool age. MURO is a modular education wall, designed in partnership with educational psychologists and experts. Teachers and parents can create their own play-spaces, unique to their child’s ages and interests in play. Both Max Mindpower and MURO are exhibiting in the Greenhouse Area.”
