From cotbeds to cupboards, homewares and nursery furniture are always significant purchases for parents, making this a key product sector and a competitive category within the Progressive Preschool Awards. PreschoolNews.net speaks to some of the finalists in this year’s Best Home or Furniture Range shortlist to find out what the awards mean to them and what their plans are for the big night.
“It’s fantastic news to be nominated and we’re naturally delighted to be in the running for our first Progressive Preschool Award. To be recognised and included in the shortlist by the retailers on your judging panel is an honour and it’s been a lovely boost for everyone on the team during what has been a challenging year.
It’s a category full of variety. We all offer something that little bit different so it will be a tough one to call. We are up against some very high profile brands such as Silver Cross and HippyChick, but we’re keeping everything crossed!
We’ll have to wait and see how the Tier 3 restrictions are affecting us nearer the day, but if we’re allowed to we will definitely be watching it together as a team.”
Jo Duckworth, director, Dreamtex
“We’re absolutely delighted to be a finalist this year. We launched just as we went into lock down, but despite this, it’s been an incredible success and the trade has supported us from the offset. Trade awards are so important, judged by leading experts and a panel of product specialists who really understand the market.
We have excellent company in this category with some of our industry’s heritage brands such as Silver Cross and East Coast. Its great to see such a broad scope of products and brands new and old. But it’s impossible to pick a favourite!
The whole team at Purflo will be joining me – virtually. We are a small team but very close and very passionate, particularly about this product.”
Richard Trott, managing director, WHL Europe (Purflo)
“It’s always exciting to receive the news that we’ve been shortlisted for an industry award, and with the current situation the news is even more welcome!
It’s a great feeling to have this recognition and support from other industry experts for a product that we’ve been excited to launch. We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone involved!”
Rebecca Ebdon-Taylor, marketing manager, Boori
This year’s event is completely free to attend and will be taking place as a virtual ceremony on Thursday 12 November, from 6:15pm. It is already shaping up to be the most fun you’ve had from the comfort of your own home this year.
