PPS Awards Focus: Best STEM/Educational Range

Finalists in the category share their joy with PreschoolNews.net ahead of tonight’s virtual extravaganza.

Finalists for Best STEM/Educational Range are excitedly counting down the hours until the Progressive Preschool Awards, which are taking place virtually from 6.15pm tonight (Thursday November 12).

Simon Tomlinson, head of marketing EMEA at Learning Resources, told PreschoolNews.net the company was “delighted” to be shortlisted.

“We’re delighted that Botley 2.0 has been selected as a finalist in this year’s Progressive Preschool Awards in the Best STEM/Educational Range category,” he commented. “Our insights show that parents are introducing STEM toys at an earlier age, and Botley 2.0 offers teachers and parents a fun and easy way to introduce coding skills to young children through hands-on, screen-free play.”

Also looking forward to joining in with the virtual event is Liz Ireland, md of Bigjigs Toys.

“We are delighted to see the Bigjigs Toys newly introduced sustainable range do so well in the Progressive Preschool Awards,” Liz told us. “The introduction of a wooden sustainable range is perfectly suited for environmentally conscious retailers who already merchandise sustainable ranges manufactured in alternative materials.

“Feedback from retail, along with early overall sales figures, indicate we have some really good selling product in this range and we are now eager to unveil the new additions for 2021. We are excited to have been nominated in the Awards and look forward to joining the online event.”

Trends UK will be looking for victory with its Hey Duggee learning toys, as the company’s Lindsay Hardy explains: “We are really over the moon to have our wonderful Hey Duggee learning toys make it to this prestigious shortlist. This recognition is fantastic for a small team like ours and we know the folks at BBC Studios are excited, too.

“Hey Duggee was a bright spot in the initial lockdown period, bringing fun and reassurance to families and children. Our PR company helped to get samples out to families to enjoy and blog about when face to face contact at preschool wasn’t possible. All being well our designer (Jo Gough), our product development manager (Clare Spark), our PR (Ane Olesen) and I will be able to join everyone on the screen that evening, with a glass of something sparkling in hand.”

Meanwhile, Andreas Kourris, digital business development officer at Engino Education, commented: “We are pleased to have been nominated for the PPS Award in the Best STEM/Educational Range category. Undoubtedly it contributes to our mission to help families equip their children with key 21st century skills available from home and school now that they have restricted access to STEM activities.

“As health and safety concerns arise, our customers choose educational substitutes that can be used easily and lay a strong STEM foundation for their little learners.”

This year’s event is completely free to attend and will be taking place as a virtual ceremony on Thursday 12 November, from 6:15pm. It is already shaping up to be the most fun you’ve had from the comfort of your own home this year.
