PAW Patrol On A Stroll initiative to launch this spring

This spring will see Nickelodeon roll out a nationwide activity-led walk – entitled PAW Patrol On A Stroll – inspired by the hit preschool series.

The initiative will take place from 22-26 May and will be raising money for Dogs Trust.

PAW Patrol on a Stroll will take nurseries, child carers and children out on a walk to raise vital funds for dogs in need. The activity guide provided will include a variety of ideas for the sponsored walk, as well as extra activities for the PAW Patrol on a Stroll week, centred on teamwork and good citizenship – two key PAW Patrol values.

There will be cut out mask templates of the PAW Patrol pups for children to decorate and wear, as well as a cut out dog template for children to colour in and take on their mission walk. Nurseries will be able to choose which day in the PAW Patrol on a Stroll week to complete their sponsored walk, as well as the optional group activities.

Nurseries will be encouraged to raise funds for Dogs Trust, the UK’s largest canine charity which rehomes around 14,000 dogs each year. The activity guide which will be made available to all participating childcare practitioners will include a host of fundraising ideas, tips and information on how the funds raised will help dogs across the UK.

On completion of each PAW Patrol on a Stroll activity children will receive a participatory badge and each nursery will receive a certificate to thank them for their support of Dogs Trust.

“The PAW Patrol on a stroll initiative is a marvellous way to engage with kids across the UK and help educate them on the importance of teamwork and citizenship, all while raising donations for dogs in crisis,” commented Venetia Davie, vp of consumer products, UK and Ireland, Israel & Australia/New Zealand at Paramount Consumer Products. “PAW Patrol is the number one rated preschool show across Europe which emphasises the fact that children have a keen interest in animals.

“We hope to maximise awareness of the initiative by launching it concurrently with PAW Patrol’s 10th anniversary as well as putting into practice the brand’s promise of empowering children to believe they can achieve big things when working as part of a team.”

Owen Sharp, chief executive of Dogs Trust, continued: “This is a wonderful initiative to be a part of and I’m delighted that Nick Jr. will be supporting Dogs Trust through this fun and engaging activity.

“We are currently dealing with an influx of dogs that need rehoming, the largest ever in the charity’s history, as the cost of living pressures are sadly affecting dog owners who can no longer take care of their dogs. The funds raised through this activity will be crucial to ensure we are able to meet the needs of all the dogs we support.”

PAW Patrol is marking its 10th anniversary in 2023. Over the past decade, 234 episodes of PAW Patrol have been aired across nine seasons. In 2021, PAW Patrol: The Movie hit the big screen, with the sequel – PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie – due for later this year.
