Company has made the donation from the proceeds of sales of its Home Learning activity book.
Orchard Toys has donated over £20,000 to NHS Charities Together, from the proceeds of sales of its Home Learning activity book.
The two titles – which carried NHS Charities Together branding alongside the familiar Orchard Toys logo – were designed and produced specifically for the project and proved to be a huge hit with consumers who were keen to join Orchard Toys in supporting the NHS.
The initiative was launched to thank NHS workers for their hard work during the coronavirus pandemic, while helping parents who were home schooling their children.
Retailing at a special price of just £3 including postage, £2 from every sale was donated to NHS Charities Together. The first 5,000 books sold within hours of launch on the company’s website, with both titles completely selling out in a matter of days.
“It was really important to us as a business to be able to give something back to the NHS workers for all their dedication and hard work, and the fact we were able to do this and help parents at the same time was a win-win,” commented Simon Newbery, md at Orchard Toys. “We’re absolutely delighted with the grand total and would like to thank everyone for their support.”
