Independent nursery retailer Kiddies Kingdom is taking the current state of retail in its stride as online sales continue to grow in its Tier 3 location, as head of customer service Tracey Wardell explained to PreschoolNews.net.
How have the first few days been, following the second lockdown easing?
“Our store is based Dewsbury so we are in Tier 3. As such, the showroom has – understandably – been very quiet. On the other hand our online sales have gone through the roof and they are keeping us all very busy!”
Is there anything in particular you have been concerned about or had to be mindful of this time round?
“We don’t have any concerns regarding safety at all, the showroom is appointment-only and we have stringent Covid 19 measures in place to protect both our customers and staff.”
Do you have any plans to extend your opening hours like the multiples?
“We have not extended our operational hours as at Kiddies Kingdom we planned for a UK-wide shutdown. This allowed us to plan for all eventualities and has limited the impact on the business.”
What do you expect the next few weeks to be like as everyone prepares for Christmas?
“We expect customer online orders to continue to be strong but the store is very quiet and realistically, that is unlikely to change.”
