The third branch of the independent nursery store Newbie & Me will be opening its doors in Shropshire this April, hoping to fill the gap left from recent Mothercare closures.
The nursery and maternity business opened its first store in Crewe in 2016, with the second store in Macclesfield following soon afterwards. All stores offer a wide range of products and services, with the newest Wellington branch also boasting a pram and pushchair test track as well as a selfie wall.
“Obviously what has happened to Mothercare and its staff is extremely sad, but it has left a gap in the market,” said owner Ameer Karim, who is looking to capitalise on the recent gap in the market.
“We are going in with different tactics. We believe social media is key and we want to offer a different service that customers have not had before,” he explained. “We understand the current market and our business is based on reviews. All our staff are very knowledgeable and give excellent customer service.”
The third Newbie & Me store will be opening in Wellington in King Street, creating around four new jobs.
