Popular potty training brand My Carry Potty has reported a sales increase of 700% over recent months as parents have taken the opportunity to focus on the sector during lockdown, says director Amanda Jenner.
Amanda – who is also known as the UK’s toilet training expert – saw the sector responding positively to the situation in the run-up to lockdown, with steady growth allowing the brand to continue to grow organically as it focused its attentions supporting parents virtually.
As a result, the last few months have seen a huge increase in both online traffic and actual sales, as Amanda explained: “We completely sold out of stock in just one week after adding new stock. Sales are up by 700% which is huge and totally unprecedented!”
“We have been offering consumers huge online support via social media, with over 300 people joining our free Potty Training Bootcamps at one time,” Amanda revealed. “We have also been supporting and giving ‘shout outs’ for all our stockists on our social posts to direct consumers to retailers.
“Stock levels were tricky initially due to the increased demand and to begin with stock was delayed in China, but thankfully we are now back on track. We are seeing healthy orders from retail and have been able to reach new customers and international distribution more than ever in the 10 years we have been operating,” she continued.
Following on from the change in consumer habits following the pandemic, Amanda expects to see consumers continue shopping more online, and so plans to continue investing more in online and social media than ever before, while also supporting independent retailers as much as possible.
“We will also be launching two new products and launching in the USA in August – it’s all very exciting, so watch this space!”
