Nursery company My 1st Years has launched a campaign, #mybigcommunity, in order to raise £10,000 to help children and families affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
In response to the current period of uncertainty, My 1st Years’ co-founder and new dad Daniel Price has been inspired to do something to help families and children who have been adversely affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
My 1st Years will be partnering with The Trussell Trust, a charitable organisation which supports the largest network of food banks across the country to provide emergency food and relief to those most in need.
“At My 1st Years, we have always been here for our customers for their good times and celebrations, but now is our chance to be here for more difficult moments too,” said Daniel. “Our hearts go out to every family affected by the pandemic and as such, we have launched a JustGiving page where we hope to raise £10,000 for The Trussell Trust and we invite our community to join us in this movement for compassion.”
He continued: “Anyone interested in donating can pledge as little as £2. In addition to helping raise money, many of our staff members will be donating their time by volunteering at local food banks. We have also pledged to donate ten meals for every order placed with us on our website during this crisis.”
The My 1st Years team would love as many people and businesses as possible to join the movement, share the news and help wherever possible to help reach the fundraising goal and bring the country together.
Donations can be made via the official Just Giving page, with more information about the campaign available here.
