The 2019 edition of Kind + Jugend has cemented the trade fair’s position as the leading international nursery event, boasting around 24,000 visitors and almost 1,300 suppliers (a new exhibitor record).
Trade visitors travelled from 133 countries to enjoy the opportunity to see the industry’s latest products, place orders and network. Of these, 77% came from overseas – a slight increase on 2018 figures – although UK visitor numbers were down slightly.
“In this year too, Kind + Jugend demonstrated its entire lively diversity,” said Gerald Böse, president and chief executive officer of Koelnmesse. “The demonstrably high competence of the visitors and the enormous internationality of the event are the decisive factors for its great success as the world’s most important platform for the entire industry.”
A focus was on new products and concepts which looked to the future, making the most of technology advances, with top trends including e-mobility for prams and digital products for child care and the children’s bedroom. Special consideration was also given to the theme of sustainability.
Next year’s Kind + Jugend show will be taking place from 17 to 20 September 2020.
