Range of natural rubber baby toys picked up Ethical Gift of the Year at Spring Fair back in February.
Inside Out Toys has added the Tikiri brand to its portfolio, becoming its sole UK distributor.
Tikiri – which means ‘teeny tiny’ in the native language of Sinhala – is based in Sri Lanka. The range of natural rubber baby toys was awarded Ethical Gift of the Year at Spring Fair back in February, where it originally came to the attention of Inside Out Toys’ sales agents.
The rapidly developing COVID-19 situation originally meant that conversations with the manufacturer were put on hold. However, as Inside Out Toys’ Nikki Garner explained, after a few weeks of living the ‘new normal’ it seemed like now was the perfect time for the company to be focusing on its business plan.
“Picking up the lead to become a distributor for such an ethical brand seemed like an amazing opportunity,” Nikki told PreschoolNews.net.
Tikiri now sits alongside Inside Out Toys’ existing wooden toy brands, Jumini and Studio Circus, and Nikki is excited about sharing the brand with both existing customers and new ones.
“Tikiri toys are made from sustainable materials, and by sourcing and producing all the toys in Sri Lanka, the company greatly minimise their carbon footprint and their impact on the environment,” Nikki commented. “Not only this, but the factory has a fabulous reputation for looking after the welfare of their employees, holding both BSCI and SMETA accreditation and demonstrating their commitment to the ten principles of fair trade.”
The collection of toys combines texture, touch and personality to help introduce babies and toddlers to the world around them. Made from 100% natural rubber from the latex of the Hevea tree and ethically sourced cotton materials, the range offers toys suitable from birth up to three years.
Nikki added: “Recognising the desire for sustainable toys, produced by ethically and socially responsible manufacturers, we are proud to have been chosen to represent the brand in the UK.”
Inside Out Toys will be taking part in The Virtual Baby Show on Facebook – hosted by The Parent and Baby Show – on May 29 and 30, giving a look at the new ranges.
