PreschoolNews.net catches up with Just Williams’ Vicky Brown to find out how trade has been since re-opening.
With both outlets now back open, Just Williams Toys is hopeful of a strong run up to Christmas, the retailer’s Vicky Brown has told PreschoolNews.net.
“Since opening, business has been strong which I am sure is partly due to pent up demand, but hoping this is a good sign that we will have a good run into Christmas which will hopefully help negate the four months we were closed,” Vicky commented. “I do feel that the message to shop local is working and customers are making a point to let us know, which is great.”
Just Williams – which has branches in Beckenham and East Dulwich – has seen a variety of products storming off the shelves for the preschool market.
Vicky continued: “Cocomelon products have been flying out the door, particularly the Singing School Bus, as have the Janod bath toys, plus lots of peg puzzles, Brio and Schliech. Sales in our preschool books have been very strong – My Granny Went to Market – seems to be particularly popular this year, with the Granny’s and Touch & Explore Dinosaurs from Twirl.”
However, Vicky did sound a note of caution: “Our main challenge this year is getting stock as there is shortage of a wide range of products across the board due to the knock on effects of Covid.”
