Toy company reports double digit growth in core markets of Germany, France and the UK.
Toy company Schleich has increased its revenue in Germany by double digits for the sixth year in a row.
In 2019, the Schleich Group achieved a gross revenue of over €200 million for the first time (compared to €183 million the previous year). At the same time, the company increased its share of the German toy market from 3.6% to 3.9%.
The company also enjoyed double digit growth in core markets of the UK and France, further shoring up its international business.
Product successes in 2019 included the Horse Club thematic world, the bayala magical creatures, fairies and dragons collection, plus the classic Wild Life and Farm World play worlds.
For 2020, Schleich will be looking to further develop its international audience, as well as investing in the development of online sales channels and further product innovations.
The company is also marking its 85th anniversary this year, with a specially designed Anniversary Lion launching to commemorate the milestone.
“2019 saw Schleich sales rise by 56%; a remarkable achievement in a challenging market,” said Thomas Randrup, md UK and Ireland at Schleich. “We largely attribute this growth to the strength of our brand, ongoing product development and strong retail partnerships. Our continued uplift in marketing will also hopefully ensure Schleich’s UK’s upward trajectory in the year ahead.”
