Former Mothercare staff who have lost their jobs over the past week are invited to send their contact details into a dedicated careers section hosted for free on PreschoolNews.net.
In the aftermath of last Monday’s official announcement, there has been an outpouring of condolences and expressions of sympathy from across the nursery and preschool industry following the sad news that Mothercare’s UK arm will be closing down.
With 2,500 members of staff left without a job or redundancy package in the run-up to Christmas, there are now a number of extremely talented individuals who will be looking for their next role in the nursery and prschool sector.
After speaking to some of those who lost their jobs last week, PreschoolNews.net found that many of them are open to contact from both suppliers and retailers looking to make the most of their years of skills and experience.
As such, PreschoolNews.net has set up a page within our industry recruitment section to help both suppliers and retailers get in touch with great talent who we know through our awards judging days, awards events and numerous trade shows, who are now looking for new opportunities.
“The Mothercare team have always been a crucial part of what we do, in particular our awards events which see those expert buyers joining our judging panels,” said publishing director of PreschoolNews.net, Rob Willis.
He continued: “In addition to this, the Mothercare team have always been great contacts and lovely people to spend time with, at trade shows and other industry events. We wanted to help them, and – given that our media is read by all suppliers and retailers within the sector – we feel hopeful that their talents and skills will be able to remain in the industry, where they can be fully appreciated. Out of bad comes good and this is a great opportunity for expanding companies to gain experienced talent.”
A number of major companies such as Debenhams, JoJo Maman Bébé and The Entertainer have also publicly acknowledged the pool of talent that is now available and are actively encouraging former Mothercare employees to get in touch.
If you would like to include your details in the list, please send them to hello@max-publishing.co.uk, subject ‘Mothercare’.
