Clarks refreshes Frugi range for autumn/winter

The new autumn/winter collection from Frugi x Clarks aims to ignite a love of adventure in every child while inspiring them to cherish and protect the planet.

Designs range from vibrant rainbows to nature inspired motifs, and Frugi has ensured that this season’s shoes are practical for adventurous kids. The shoes are machine washable and crafted from organic cotton and recycled materials.

The new collection caters to children from pre-walkers to first step takers, to adventurous kids of all ages. The uppers are made from 55% recycled nylon, with padded collars for a comfortable and secure fit around the ankles.

A soft lining is made from 100% organic cotton and the rip tapes are 100% recycled. The shoes also feature toe bumpers to prevent scuffing and recycled heel pulls to offer a secure, custom fit and easy dressing.

The soft foam footbed is made from 30% recycled polyurethane and bendy flex-grooved rubber outsoles make sure feet stay comfy, supported and deliver water and mud dispersion.

Rosie McKissock, head of kids product at Clarks, commented: “With nearly 200 years of experience in kids footwear, Clarks has a long history in exciting creative partnerships and driving product innovation. As such, we know that sometimes two heads are better than one when it comes to generating new ideas.

“Our partnership with Frugi has been really inspiring – allowing both brands to use their own unique personalities and expertise to design an irresistible footwear collection. We’re all so proud that the Clarks x Frugi collection not only looks and feels fantastic, but has also allowed us as a platform to really explore how to get the most from sustainable materials and approaches in kids footwear.”

Jeni Bolton, product and brand director of Frugi, added: “As a life-long admirer of Clarks, having worn their shoes as a child and now my own children wearing then, I am delighted to see the strengths of both brands come together. With Clarks’ trusted expertise in well-fitting children’s footwear and Frugi’s child-centric colourful design, the partnership felt perfect.

“We were incredibly excited to have this opportunity to combine our shared ethos of producing long lasting hand-me-down quality footwear for children to wear and play in and pass down again and again. Working together with the Clarks product team through the design process was a joy; bringing our sustainable design approach to create footwear that is not only beautifully colourful but also kinder to the planet.”
