New business, Bebies, offers a sleep aid which uses parents’ own soothing sounds to help send babies to sleep.
The new sleep aid allows parents to record settling words, songs or sounds in their own voice to quickly soothe babies. The Bebies system also offers a choice of a lullaby or white noise. A built-in sensor is activated when a baby wakes or stirs and the device starts to work. There are three volume settings and the recording can be set for 15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes.
Available in four animal designs – Milo the Monkey, Dusty the Donkey, Hettie the Hippo and Felix the Fox, the all-in-one sleep toy can be played wit and used as a comforter too.
The toys are machine washable and feature straps to attach them to a car seat, pushchair or cot for safe sleeping, and there’s even a glow in the dark tag to help to locate the device in the dark.
Bebies was created by Danielle Ekert during the first lockdown after being made redundant from her job. Danielle started to research the concept which was born from spending countless hours trying to ‘shh’ her own baby to sleep and realising he would only settle when he heard her voice. Bebies retail at £34.99 each.
