Baby Products Association reveals plans for the future at AGM

The Baby Products Association saw a strong turnout for its recent AGM and networking event, where it revealed a number of plans for the future.

Held in the Wellington Hotel in Vincent Square, London last week (19 June), Marc Hardenberg, chair of the association, welcomed over 80 members and non members, sharing some of its upcoming plans.

This includes a restructuring, a new name, re-branding, fresh membership categories and numerous planned new partnerships.

He also expressed sincere thanks to former managing director Robert Anslow (who stepped down earlier this year) for his hard work and positive contribution during his 15 years leading the association.

Attendees also heard four seminars including Nick Richardson from The Insights Family, who gave an overview of changing generations of parents and their preferred shopping habits; Luke Burns from Cybex who explained the updated R129 Car Seat regulations; James Birch from SGS who described actions required by all manufacturers in coming months relating to the EU General Product Safety Directive; and Salma Boutarf, senior vendor manager baby products at Amazon UK who described how retailers can use the online giant’s services and also help to combat counterfeit products.

The event concluded on the hotel’s terrace with networking drinks.

One of the association’s new corporate partners has also been confirmed as Kids’ Time Poland, which takes place on 25-27 February 2025 and will see a number of Europe-wide premieres, debuts and product launches for preview by the child products and services business sector.

BPA members will now benefit from a range of exclusive discounts when attending the show.

More information regarding the association’s name change and re-branding will be issued to the industry as soon as possible.
