Wild Republic eyes eco-friendly collection expansion in 2024

Wild Republic is eyeing further growth in 2024, beginning this week in Nuremberg with the unveiling of its new Rainforest plush line in support of rainforest conservation.

The company was founded over 40 years ago by G.B. Pillai and his wife, Kamala with an aim to foster curiosity about wildlife and educate children about the wonders of nature.

The new Rainforest plush line is made from 100% recycled material and features four collections – Rainforest Splendors, Rainforest Birds and Rainforest Snakes. Proceeds from the line will support rainforest conservation and will also educate children about rainforests and the animals that call it home.

The company will also use Spielwarenmesse as a platform to a showcase a number of other new product offerings. These will include Green Guardians play-sets (which are eco-friendly and completely biodegradable); Snuggleluvs weighted plush; Eco Nature Tubes (each containing 10-18 pieces); and Green Polybag Play-sets to help imaginations, encourage independent play and sensory play.

“Before sustainability was a trend, my grandad, G. B. Pillai and Ammamma, Kamala Pillai made it our company’s mission to focus on nature conservation, and everything that lives on the planet,” commented Vishnu Chandran, ceo of Wild Republic and grandson of G. B. Pillai. “Throughout the company’s history, we’ve supported numerous charities, locally and globally, and we will continue to focus on important causes including rainforest conservation. It’s our mission, or rather our duty to educate our youth about the importance of nature and work towards preserving our planet, for future generations to come.”

Vishnu continued: “My granddad has always had an immense love and respect for rainforests. The world depends on their survival for our survival, that’s why we are pleased to announce our commitment to rainforest conservation through our Global Giving Fund.”

Further new launches from Wild Republic in 2024 will include Earthkins, a collection of 15″ plush animals; Naturekins, which look like real animals due to the sublimation print and also feel like the animal with a natural rubber filling that is squeezable but always returns to its original shape; Tailkins, which have hook and loop pads enabling them to drape around shoulders; and Coilkins, posable fun snakes.
