Leading baby product company Béaba has acquired the Belgian childcare company Childhome, incorporating the business into Béaba’s global organisation.
The acquisition, which was finalised in the days leading up to Christmas, brings the two renowned brands together to continue creating well-designed, innovative and safe products for all families and young children.
Despite these current challenging times, Béaba and Childhome have demonstrated a solid growth and are confident in their dynamics for creating value in the childcare market.
“We are looking ahead and preparing for a potential baby boom in the second quarter of 2021.” revealed Julien Laporte, ceo of Béaba Group. “A new generation of ‘coronials’ is coming! By expanding our range with Childhome and Béaba products, and development across both markets, we are ready for the challenges that 2021 will bring.”
He continued: “I personally want to thank founders Nathalie and Stefan Aerts for entrusting Béaba with the leadership of this very beautiful brand with its strong growth and solid performance.”
“We are delighted with the acquisition of Childhome to further bolster our brand portfolio and growth,” added Natalie Jackson, vp sales and marketing UK and The Netherlands. “Childhome products are very synergistic to both our Beaba and Red Castle brands and this range brings new categories to further broaden our offering to retailers. Having finished 2020 with more than 20% growth on 2019, I am sure that with the addition of Childhome, Beaba UK will continue to grow even further in 2021.”
As a Belgian company, Childhome will remain in Kontich, where it has been based for the past 35 years. “We are convinced of the unique opportunities this acquisition will offer for Childhome, Béaba and their teams in the future,” said founder Stefan Aerts. “One thing is certain: the best is yet to come!”
