Prestigious UK nursery brand Silver Cross is ending 2020 on a high as it donates £20,000 of products to families in need as part of an initiative with three charitable organisations.
By donating hundreds of items to charities which support families in need, Silver Cross has gone a step further this year to help many of the families affected by the coronavirus pandemic, providing essential products for babies and toddlers.
To date, the brand has donated £20,000 worth of travel systems, strollers, accessories, nursery furniture and baby bedding to charitable organisations Baby Basics, Little Village and AberNecessities.
“We are so thankful to Silver Cross for their support,” said Danielle Flecher-Horn, founder of AberNecessities. “The generous donation of buggies will make life a great deal easier for so many families. Many parents we work with have reported feelings of extreme loneliness or social isolation because of the pandemic; these buggies are essentially game-changing items that will afford them the ability to get out for fresh air, a change of scenery, meet friends and family, de-stress and re-set.”
Cat Ross, ceo of Baby Basics, agreed, saying: “Provision of a pram or pushchair is not just about keeping a baby/ toddler safe while out and about, but it is the means for vulnerable parents to access their community. We are so excited to be able to provide more vulnerable families with the lifeline of a pram or pushchair thanks to the amazing support of Silver Cross.
“We know lots of families have been struggling during the COVID pandemic, so we wanted to help by donating these much-needed prams and baby products,” stated David Abbott, global head of brand for Silver Cross. “We felt it was important to support these worthwhile charities and hope our donations will help lots of families in need across the country.”
