Family-run children’s clothing company Picture Book Fashion has set up an ongoing partnership with Quarriers, a charity that supports vulnerable children and families.
The partnership will see the apparel and accessories company donating clothes to the children as well as sponsoring fun days out
Picture Book Fashion first started started donating children’s clothes to Quarriers in 2018 and has continued to support the charity every year, providing clothing for a broad age range.
“We initially chose the charity as it’s local and supported children right across Scotland,” said marketing executive Emelye Wilkinson. “It’s been a lovely thing to do, especially around Christmas time.”
Keen to offer the charitable organisation more help, Picture Book Fashion decided to become an official Quarriers charity partner, helping the charity in a number of additional ways.
“Picture Book Fashion is a family-run business based in Glasgow and it’s really important to us to support local children and families,” contined Emelye. “Forming an official partnership with Quarriers seemed like the best way for us to help the community.”
The new partnership will see Picture Book Fashion providing even more brand new clothes for vulnerable children by making donations each season, as well as getting involved with fundraising events and the annual Summer Appeal, which helps over 900 children each year enjoy memorable days out and experiences.
“The donations from PBF have been so welcome,” said one of the Quarriers team in a statement. “Many of our families are coping with multiple challenges like ill health, poverty and trauma. The children have received lovely and also essential items – like winter coats – that they just would not have had otherwise.”
“I support one wee girl who just loves her jacket donated by PBF a couple of years ago. You could see her almost light up when she wears it. She feels special, and she feels included – just like other children she sees on TV or in the community, she’s got something nice to wear. And she’s still wearing it two years on!”
