Orchard Toys sees strong response to its free resources

Daily activity sheets, recipes and craft ideas prove to be a big hit with over 250,000 downloads since lockdown.

Orchard Toys has been helping parents to take the pressure out of home schooling with a series of free resources available online.

In a specially designated ‘Things to Do’ section on its website, parents can download a range of free activity sheets, from crafts and recipes to educational activities, colouring sheets and more.

The availability of the free activities created an instant impact on social media and subsequently, a phenomenal number of downloads, said the company. Parents, teachers, press, bloggers, influencers and celebs have all been spreading the word about the fun, helpful and easy to access resources.

The activity sheets are sent out to customers on Orchard Toys’ mailing list and then posted on social media channels the next day. The activities can be used independently or as a collaborative effort between parents and children.

A number of the activity sheets are designed in line with games in the Orchard Toys range, to provide added value and extend the educational learning beyond playing the game. The collection features worksheets for key educational skills such as maths and literacy along with life skills, including telling the time and handling money.

In addition, there is also a range of more creative resources such as arts and crafts, recipes, and downloadable sheets for different events including Easter, Christmas and Mother’s Day. All designed with simplicity in mind and each sheet is bold and uncluttered meaning they are great for younger children creating simple art.

“The activity sheets have been popular with parents for a few years, but we are now seeing a record number of downloads as parents are using them as key educational resources,” said Ali Brown, marketing manager at Orchard Toys. “Our design team have not only risen to the challenge of creating these resources on a daily basis, but they have really enjoyed doing so and we are proud to be able to do our bit to support children and parents at this most challenging time.”
