The Baby Products Association has teamed up with a number of leading car seat manufacturers to launch a comprehensive guide which aims to end the confusion about child car seats.
The free guide, which is now available to download, has been designed to advise parents, carers, retailers and suppliers across all aspects of buying and using child car seats, including the essential differentiation between R44 and R129 Regulations.
The booklet has been endorsed by manufacturers and suppliers and is designed to be used as a comprehensive reference guide. All brands adopted this position and have stated that their trainers will train in accordance with the messaging within the booklet to ensure there is no deviation or potential confusion.
Initially intended to be distributed at Harrogate International Nursery Fair, the guide was intended for retailers and suppliers to use as a resource instore and to give to consumers for them to use when choosing and purchasing car seats.
The downloadable guide will also be available in print when the 2020 show takes place, with the final dates yet to be announced.
“The booklet reiterates the importance of consumers seeking professional advice from retailers when purchasing a child car seat and face-to-face demonstrations to ensure correct fitting,” said
Robert Anslow, managing director of the Baby Products Association. ” However, in these unprecedented times of Covid-19 lockdown, parents still need to purchase car seats for new babies and growing children, and we feel it is important that they have the best advice available to them, so are launching it online now. The printed version of the booklet will be available as a resource for retailers at a later date.”
