PreschoolNews.net speaks to Jon Tucker, marketing and advertising for Red Kite, to find out how 2019 has treated the nursery brand so far and what’s in store for the rest of the year.
How has the pushchair market performed over the last year?
“We have found an increased demand for simple buggies. In fact the sales demand for our popular Push Me 2U buggies have increased YoY by over 120% compared to last year. Our mid-range strollers including the new compact fold design are growing in popularity as parents recognise the simple function and ease of use with this style of stroller.”
Do you think parents are looking for the same things as they were a few years ago? What’s changed?
“Colour trends are always a key factor when choosing a stroller and grey continues to dominate our range. The Red Kite brand is synonymous with value and this appears to be even more relevant in the current uncertain market. All of our strollers and travel systems are sold as the complete package to include raincovers, shopping baskets and lots of extras.”
Tell us how you meet the demands of modern parents across the mobility market? What trends are you focusing on?
“We listen to our customers, especially our independent partners, who have the real expertise of listening to customers and finding out what they want. We also use new parents and experienced parents as testers to gain valuable feedback on ways to improve or what they like the best.”
What do you have in store for 2019/2020?
“Our brand new lightweight compact stroller the Push Me Kwik is a great out and about stroller that is so smooth and easy to use. Our hero pushchair for 2019 is without doubt the new Push Me Savanna. We are already struggling to keep up with sales demand as this new travel system ticks all the boxes and is a stylish eye-catching design.”
