At last week’s product judging for the Progressive Preschool Awards 2019, we asked Katie Gritt – the senior social media, content and PR manager at The Entertainer – for her highlights of 2019 so far.
What has been the preschool highlight of your year so far?
“In terms of product Toy Story 4 has been absolutely great for us. It was a great movie of course and has been a really strong sales driver as well. Lego Movie 2 was my personal favourite, but Toy Story 4 really took the market by storm.”
Which initiative, campaign or launch are you most proud of?
“Introducing the Big Toy Rehoming campaign was a particular highlight. It helped us to acknowledge the responsibility of the industry to tackle plastic in the toys, as it aims to reduce plastic waste by prolonging the life cycle of toys thanks to our partnership with the Salvation Army. It’s really important and has been a huge success.”
As we approach the current Brexit deadline, how do you think it has impacted the industry?
“Consumer confidence has obviously been impacted but equally we’ve noticed stronger sales the past couple of months. So it’s questionable as to whether consumers are taking it very seriously because of the consistent delays to the process!”
