“Tech is changing by the day,” says Bluebell’s Gemma Stokes

Technological advances are increasingly important within the nursery and preschool sector. Preschoolnews.net spoke to Gemma Stokes, marketing manager at Bluebell to find out more.

How important is new technology to modern parents, and why?

“With the millennial generation typically being those having babies at the moment, technology is so important. These parents have grown up with technology and having the latest gadget and the most advanced product is essential. Modern parents are much more reliant on technology, as it allows parents to stay connected to baby at all times, communicate within parenting networks for advice and guidance, making them feel more secure and assured.”

Why do you think technological advances have become so important in the baby care sector?

“Technology has allowed us to have accurate and informative data on babies, which can help with a variety of things such as sleep, illnesses, helping to develop a routine etc. Tech is changing by the day, so as a brand specialising in nursery tech, it’s very important for us to keep up with all developments in the industry so we remain relevant and fresh.”

What do you think parents of the future will expect from their babycare technology?

“With technology becoming more advanced by the day, the development we will see in just five years will be phenomenal. Parents will expect routine trackers and connectivity to their mobile devices. As time goes by, we will only become more and more reliant on technology to keep us connected to our babies at all times, and to alert us if our baby needs attention.”

What is your hero product for 2019?

“This year we are launching the Bluebell Smart Monitoring system, which is designed by doctors and gives parents  real-time alerts on baby’s breathing, temperature, position and crying. It also tracks sleep and activity for both parent and baby, allowing you to easily track baby’s routine, as well as your mood and activity levels. With Bluebell, there’s no need to carry anything around or keep checking a screen as the clip sends alerts to the parent wristband when needed. It even works outside the home!”
