Philip to retire from role representing toy company to retailers in Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
After 31 years representing Character Options to retailers in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, Philip Richardson is to retire from the role at the end of August this year.
Philip (pictured above right with Character Options’ md Joe Kissane) has worked with the company since its beginning, and originally met Joe when they both worked at LEGO some 40 years ago.
“Myself, Richard [King], Jon [Diver] and Kiran [Shah] will always be grateful for his loyalty, commitment and the 100% support he gave in helping Character grow into the successful business it is today,” said Joe. “Philip has been a great friend as well as a loyal employee; he will be sadly missed by everyone in the business.”
In preparation for the change, and to ensure a smooth transition, Banaghan & Co has been appointed to represent Character Options and its products to independent retailers in the Republic and Northern Ireland, as well as the Isle of Man.
Working alongside Philip, the Banaghan team will begin the new role at the Toymaster show later on this month.
Ireland-based national accounts will be handled directly by the internal Character Options sales team.
Banaghan & Co’s Colm Banaghan commented: “We are delighted to be appointed to represent Character Options and its great range of brands and products.
“It is our aim to use the close relationships with the independent trade we have forged after 60 years of business to add to success of the Character portfolio. We look forward to seeing everyone at this month’s Toymaster show to get the ball rolling.”
