Pip Ahoy trail heads to Cornwall and Devon

Mixed-reality treasure hunt featuring CHF brand will run throughout the summer holidays.

Families heading to Cornwall and Devon on their summer holidays will be able to join the characters from Pip Ahoy! for a new mixed-reality treasure hunt.

From this week, families will be able to access a Pip Ahoy! branded map at www.pipahoytrail.com and have fun seeking out hotspots dropped at popular tourist locations in Cornwall and Devon to unlock their favourite characters and then upload character selfies and earn discount rewards for food, drink and attractions.

Seaside towns taking part include Penzance, Padstow, Falmouth, St Ives and Newquay in Cornwall and in Crealy Adventure Park & Resort in Devon.

In addition to collecting the digital treasures, families can also unlock premium content to gain access to special offers and deals with local businesses, includingfamily theme park, Crealy Adventure Park & Resort, which is offering a 25% discounted entry to those who can unlock the discount voucher.

The scheme was developed by location-based experiences platform, Landmrk, and CHF Entertainment.

“Cornwall, with its amazing coastal locations, is the perfect spot to represent Pip Ahoy!’s Salty Cove and for families to join Pip on their own adventures,” said Adrian Wilkins, ceo of CHF Media Group. “We’re incredibly excited to take Pip and his friends on their first adventure into mixed-reality and can’t wait to see fans new and old sharing selfies with him on their holidays, and engaging with the show like never before.”

Seth Jackson, ceo of Landmrk, added: “This project represents the next step in the evolution of destination holidays. It can be difficult for parents to pry their children away from screens in order to see the sights and take part in activities.

“Mixed reality and location-based experiences such as this provide an opportunity for families, as well as for the travel and tourism industry more generally, to instead embrace mobile devices for the enhancement of family holidays.”
